Specialized care, with you in mind.

Guided by intention and built with care, this is a boutique space where specialized, trauma-informed psychotherapy meets thoughtful clinical practice.

About Vera Wellness

Vera Wellness was created with intention as a boutique psychotherapy clinic offering specialized, trauma-informed care.

Our clinicians are trauma-trained and work with a strong emphasis on safety, nervous system regulation, and pacing. Therapy is informed by evidence-based and integrative approaches, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), to allow care to be tailored to each individual’s needs and capacity.

By working with a limited number of clients, we are able to offer a human-centred, relational approach that respects complexity and prioritizes presence, attunement, and thoughtful clinical practice.

Meet the Founder,

Meka Matthews

Vera Wellness was founded by Meka Matthews out of a deep curiosity about people and what shapes us beneath the surface.
Meka began her career working in brain injury rehabilitation, where she saw firsthand how injury and trauma can alter a person’s sense of self, safety, and connection to the world. That early work shaped her respect for the nervous system and the importance of care that is steady, patient, and deeply human.

As her clinical work evolved, Meka became increasingly drawn to understanding how experiences earlier in life, particularly childhood trauma and trauma within relationships continue to show up in adulthood. She has always been less interested in quick fixes and more curious about root causes: the patterns we carry, the ways we learn to survive, and how those adaptations make sense in context. Her own experiences in life and in therapy further reinforced the value of slowing down and creating space for safety, regulation, and reflection.

Vera Wellness grew from this perspective: a desire to offer therapy that feels personal, thoughtful, and relational. A boutique space where people are not rushed or reduced to a diagnosis, but met with presence, honesty, and care.
