What is EMDR Intensive Therapy?

EMDR intensives offer a powerful way to experience meaningful change in less time.

Unlike traditional weekly sessions, where the momentum can be cut short just as deeper work begins, intensives provide extended time in the therapeutic process. This creates more space for the kind of deep healing that often leads to lasting shifts, helping you get to the root of what’s been holding you back at a pace that feels right for you—without dragging the process out.

My EMDR intensive program is tailored to your needs and delivered in a condensed format, giving you quicker access to support. Instead of waiting months on a list or stretching progress over weekly sessions, intensives allow you to step into focused healing now—so you can do the work, experience relief, and move forward with your life.

While EMDR is the foundation of this approach, I also integrate other evidence-based methods, somatic elements, and a focus on what truly resonates with you. Together, we will find the path that helps you feel less stuck and more aligned with your goals.

Intensive Therapy is more efficient and cost-effective than weekly therapy

What Weekly Therapy Usually Looks Like

A standard session is about 50 minutes and typically includes:

  • 5–15 minutes to check in and review how things have been going

  • 20–30 minutes focused on EMDR or deeper therapeutic work

  • 5–15 minutes to slow down, ground, and close the session

And here’s the challenge: life doesn’t stop between appointments. New stressors, or the “problem of the week” often take up valuable time. While these conversations matter, they can sometimes delay the deeper healing you’re really wanting to reach.

What Intensive Therapy Looks Like

Intensive sessions run between 3-5 hours and usually include:

  • 5–15 minutes to check in and set the focus

  • 90–220 minutes devoted to EMDR and deep healing work

  • 10–15 minutes to debrief, ground, and close the session

The benefits? You move through the healing process more quickly, without waiting months to see progress. You don’t need to squeeze weekly appointments into your already full schedule. And in the long run, intensives can be more cost-effective.
